Minister Basnet urges all to cooperate for peaceful elections

Kathmandu, Nov 29 (RSS): Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet has urged all to cooperate with the government to conduct the second phase of elections peacefully as first phase of elections were completed peacefully.
Minister Basnet, who has contested the polls from Sindhupalchok-1 to the House of Representatives, said it while talking to media persons at the Ministry on Wednesday.


Stating that the country was in difficult mode these days, Basnet argued that the upcoming elections are to serve as the option whether to choose stability of democracy or destabilize it in the country.
Minister Basnet reiterated that the people will reject any totalitarian system in the country. He further opined for forging consensus among the parties as they had shown it while promulgating the constitution.
On another note, Minister Basnet said that the state-owned media should disseminate the news neutrally and impartially. He added that such media should forward government’s popular activities to the people after creating harmonious relations among the parties and people.
