Husband accused of killing wife with blow from scythe’s handle

Rampur (Palpa), August 5: A person has been accused of killing his wife with a blow struck with the handle of a scythe here at Jogidhunga of Purvakhola rural municipality –5onFridaynight.

40 – year – old Ranvir Damai stands accused of hitting his wife Sukmaya Pariyar with the scythe’s handle and killing her, according to District Police Office, Palpa.

Damai, who was drunk at the time, got into a domestic dispute following which he struck his wife at 10 pm, according to Inspector, Avadh Kishor Ohja.

The locals accuse the husband of repeatedly meting out physical and mental tortures on his wife in drunken state. Police have taken Damai under control for investigation. Sukmaya’s mortal remains have been sent to the District Hospital, Palpa for an autopsy. RSS
