UML to provide one month’s salary of its lawmakers for flood victims

Kathmandu, Aug 15: CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting today took the decision to provide a month’s salary of its lawmakers to raise funds for the families hit by flooding and landslides.
In the meeting presided over by UML Chairman and PP leader, KP Sharma Oli, at the Legislature – Parliament building in New Baneshwor, the party also demanded the government to provide Rs 500,000 to each family of those killed in the flood and landslide.
UML’s Chief Whip, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, said the party took the decision on making the demand with the government to immediately bring out rescue, search, rehabilitation and relief programmes targeting the flood victims.


The meeting called on the government to carry out a fact finding missing over the inundation of the Nepali territories due to the barrage built by India in the no man’s land.
UML has also demanded the government to fulfill as much as demands put forth by Prof Dr Govinda KC, who is on a fast – unto – death, and inform Dr KC about the demands that cannot be fulfilled. RSS
