Three arrested for gambling in the pretext of World Cup

“Kathmandu, July 3 (RSS): Three persons have been arrested on the charge of running a bet in the name of the ongoing World Cup football.

Prakat Maharjan,22, of Mheipi, Rejin Maharjan,22, of Ramghat and Sujen Shahi,25, of Chagal were arrested from Kathmandu metropolis-15.

They were arrested along with the money put on the bet for gambling worth Rs. 699,000. Those arrested were made public today.

Spokesperson of Metropolitan Police Range in Kathmandu Mohan Kumar Thapa said they were arrested red handed as they were running the bet illegally. Further investigation has been initiated, Thapa said.”
